Rates

Mike Jonsson’s hourly rate is $325, and Hellen Hernandez’s is $190.  These rates are as of July 1, 2009, and subject to change.  We charge for work we do, but do not charge when we're not working on your matter (in other words, we don't monthly charge a percentage of the bill for administrative purposes, or a flat monthly fee, or other additional general administrative charge, as other law offices do).  We also don't have fixed fees for tasks like preparation of certain pleadings, or your Settlement Agreement.

In Mediation cases, clients pay for time spent in mediation at the end of each session, and also maintain a deposit retainer of $1,000 for time charges incurred outside of mediation sessions.  Other terms and conditions, as described in our fee agreement, may apply.  Many people ask how much the average mediation case costs, but there are no "average" mediation cases.  However, a majority of our mediation clients come to agreement within three to six sessions.

In Collaborative cases, clients maintain a deposit retainer of $3,500, and services are paid for at the end of each month from this deposit.  Just as with Mediation cases, other terms and conditions, as described in our fee agreement, may apply.

For legal consultations on all other family law matters, clients pay for any actual time spent in consultation with Mike.

When filing fees are due for the filing of any pleadings, those fees are paid directly by our clients to the appropriate county in which the pleadings are filed.

For all services we provide, the specific terms and conditions that we, and our clients, will be bound by will be contained within the fee agreements that are actually signed by Mike and client(s). 

We accept payment by cash, check, MasterCard, and Visa.
